Fazeshift announces strategic investment from Amex VenturesRead the announcement

Fazeshift builds AI agents for accounts receivable — the invoices, the remittance, the chasing, the reconciling. It’s the least glamorous work in finance and among the least automated. We started here on purpose.

The Fazeshift team

Caitlin Leksana and Timmy Galvin met at Harvard Business School and started a company together, selling software to enterprise customers. Selling wasn’t the problem. Collecting was.

Caitlin was tracking every invoice and every payment by hand, color-coding a spreadsheet to keep straight who had paid in full, who had paid part, and who needed another email.

She went looking for software that would take it off her, and found plenty that would send an invoice or accept a card, and nothing that would make sure the money actually arrived.

About a year and a half in, they set that company aside and started cold-calling CFOs — hundreds of them — to find out whether what they had been living was everyone’s version of it. It was.

Fazeshift was founded in 2023, and when the first version shipped out of Y Combinator’s Summer 2024 batch, the CFOs they had called became the first customers.

Where our name comes from

A phase shift moves a wave forward in time.

AR is a wave: invoices out, payments back, on a weekly, monthly, quarterly beat. Late payment adds lag to that wave and drags the whole cycle backward. The cash lands after you needed it, the forecast was built on it anyway, and somebody spends the month chasing the difference.

A phase shift is the term for moving a periodic wave forward or backward in time. Shifting that cycle forward, back to where it belongs, is the entire job.

So that’s what we called the company.

Finance teams don’t need somewhere else to put their data. They need the work done in the systems they already run. So Fazeshift is built as agents that reach into the ERP, the bank, the inbox, and the portals — reading what’s actually there, whatever shape it arrives in, and acting on it.

Where a system offers an API, we use it. Where it doesn’t, we connect through file-based integration when available, and the agent works the screen the way a person would when it isn’t.

The clean transactions were automated years ago; the exceptions are what every other tool hands back, and they’re where the real work of AR happens.

How we work

They show up in what we build, how we scope deployments, and what we turn down.

We’re built for the teams buried in financial operations, solving the problems everyone else walked away from. Not patching around the edges of the problem — taking on the part that was left manual because it was hard.

We’ve raised $27M to date, most recently a $17M Series A led by F-Prime Capital and a strategic investment from Amex Ventures.

Amex Ventures

American Express’s venture arm made a strategic investment in August 2026. Anirudh Singh, Investment Director: “Few functions in enterprise finance have as much room for innovation as accounts receivable, and Fazeshift has taken an impressive approach to applying AI to these complex operational workflows.”

F-Prime Capital

F-Prime Capital led our $17M Series A in May 2026. “We fell in love with the team immediately; Caitlin’s sharpness and drive were obvious from the first conversation, and Timmy’s technical depth and customer empathy left a lasting impression on everyone who met him.” “We heard glowing feedback from customers who described Fazeshift as transformative for how they ran their financial operations.”

Gradient Ventures

Google’s early-stage AI fund led our $4M seed in January 2025 and returned for the Series A. Darian Shirazi, Partner: “The team is unique. It’s rare that both the CEO and the CTO are coders and engineers, that’s a pretty big marker for me.”

“Fazeshift is bringing AI to a giant file cabinet industry: AI agents will be able to do accounts receivable and are already doing so for some of the world’s biggest labor marketplaces… It’s awesome to see practical vertical AI taking off.”

Move as fast as you can build.

Fazeshift is AI-native in how we work, not just in what we sell — every function uses it to move faster, not to skip the thinking. People stay because what they build reaches customers in days, the company is compounding fast, and whatever you’re working on, you set the bar instead of inheriting someone else’s.
